The Strangers We Knew: Run 2

Catskills, Summer of 1974. To celebrate the engagement of his eldest son, charismatic business magnate Bruce Beaumont invites his closest family and friends to his idyllic, intimate, summer cottage in the Catskills. The air is sure to be filled with laughter, the clinking of champagne glasses, and general high spirits.

But behind every smile lies a secret. Beneath the linen suits and halter dresses, the polished manners and practiced charm, old wounds fester. In this psychological drama about love and betrayal, truth and illusion, the line between sincerity and performance begins to blur – revealing the depth of the decaying human soul hidden beneath the mask of social conformity.

As the weekend unfolds, façades will crumble and loyalties fracture. When tragedy strikes, the question isn’t simply who is guilty, but how long can any of us really keep the mask from slipping? And what are we willing to do, to keep it in place?

The Strangers We Knew is a story about the darkness of the human psyche, of guilt, corruption, betrayals and the fragile ties that bind us together. It is a murder mystery that doesn’t focus primarily on the investigation, but the unsettling weight of what is left unsaid, and the question of what happens when the masks come off.
