Springwater Colony Run #1

November 27 @ 8:00 am November 30 @ 5:00 pm

It was way past curfew and the cold rain behind the old, double-paned windows was spelling a long, cold winter ahead – but the old estate was full of tension. A candle flickered, stirred by whispered conversations.

“Have you heard? They’re bringing in new patients!”

“Patients? To our colony? You’re joking, nobody gets Loimos anymore.”

“I saw the documents myself, on the reverend’s desk! They had the same last name. Who could it be?”

“We haven’t had anyone admitted in decades!”

“I know…”

“…”

“I’m scared. They’ll hate it here. They’ll hate us.”

“But maybe that means we won’t be closed down?”

Springwater Colony is a larp for 30 players based on the historical treatment of leprosy patients as well as the COVID epidemic and takes place in what may be the final days of a crumbling quarantined community. Themes include human rights, personal autonomy and worth, societal inclusion and isolation, infectious disease, and public health. This is a larp about how the world treats people it sees as disposable or lower value and how everyone copes with that.
