Garrison Road: The Aftermath

The war has ended, those who fought and those who supported on the front lines have returned battered and bruised. No one wants to talk about the past. Least of all those who stayed behind and who now have to face adjusting either to loss or to a welcome or unwelcome return. Work is hard to come by and life is cheap. Gangs jostle for control of the streets in hope that it will gain them and theirs a ticket to a better life. Wounds bubble beneath the surface and everywhere people are looking to return to their lives when so much has changed. Down on Garrison Road lies a pub with a fragile entente cordiale, where rival gangs, the people of the street, and undercover police rub elbows and hang out. But how long will the police let this Entente stand?

Event Overview

Garrison Road is an Argentine tango dance LARP. The story of the game will be told through a 3 hour In Character period Saturday evening. In this period, all important scenes are expressed through dance, movement, and pantomime; verbal communication should be avoided as much as possible. Friday evening and Saturday morning will consist of workshops teaching the basics of Argentine tango, communication through movement and co-creating the world and the relationships that we will explore. There will also be a Milonga (social dance) on the Friday evening to ease you into the world of Tango before we add LRP elements. The Milonga will be open to attendees who are not attending the LRP.
