DESCRIPTION:Nine Candles is a live roleplaying game based on the popular tragic horror tabletop game Ten Candles. It will be run over a day and a half during the weekend of 28th-30th March 2025\, at Pardshaw Quaker Centre in the northwest Lake District\, UK. You will take on the roles of modern-day people who\, by fortune or by fate\, have made their way to Pardshaw after the sun went out and THEY began to infest the darkness that swept over the world. \n\n\n\nThis game will have 18 player spaces\, and we are planning to re-run it. The refteam is Kes Ward\, Thomas “Weasel” Tyler\, Mish Liddle\, Cameron Alsop and Avery Wright. The refteam can be contacted at the email stonewardstorytelling *at* gmail.com. \n\n\n\nTicket cost for the weekend with catering and a crashmat sleeping space is £50 full price or £20 concession. Concessions will be available for students\, people whose primary source of income is state benefits (or who have no/very little income due to ineligibility for such benefits)\, and Quakers aged 18-35. We will be organising offsite sleeping in the Travelodge in Cockermouth for players who request it\, at £60 extra for the weekend. \n\n\n\nNote: as of 1st February 2025\, we have sold out of concession spots\, so the cost for all future signups is £50. Please note on the booking form if you are a concession and we’ll refund you £30 if a spot becomes available.

DESCRIPTION:Booking will open Thursday 26th September at 8pm. \n\n\n\nWhat happened to Mikey Smith is a Mystery Horror LARP set in the UK in 1996. \n\n\n\nLast year’s nature two night away trip ended badly as head boy Mikey Smith was unaccounted for on the final morning. Rumors ranged from secretly winning the lottery with his older sister’s ticket to alien abduction. The school\, police\, and his family accepted the more plausible and mundane explanation\, with no body or evidence of foul play\, he simply ran away. \n\n\n\nThis is a larp and mundane answers wouldn’t make for an exciting mystery horror larp. \n\n\n\nPlayers will take on the role of teenagers attending this year’s now infamous school trip\, they will learn the true fate of Mikey Smith\, but will they survive it? \n\n\n\nYou will enjoy this larp if you enjoy; \n\n\n\n\nEmerging narrative and mystery during a school trip.\n\n\n\nPlaying the setting and not trying to “win” the game. “Average UK teens in 1996.”\n\n\n\nSharing information and plot with other participants.\n\n\n\nSurvival horror.\n\n\n\nPlaying character out of their depths and unprepared for dealing supernatural elements.\n\n\n\nSlow burn reveals which ramp up to a crescendo…\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat you will not find at this larp; \n\n\n\n\nStudent teacher relationships.\n\n\n\nEpic heroic battles. This is not a larp about winning.
