We expect more than 400 players. And some of them will speak English only. Most of the German players however\, speak reasonable English. So do not worry about being lost in translation. DESCRIPTION:The date is May 10th\, 1933\, and we hang out at a drag club in Berlin. The nazi regime has risen to power and the joyous\, liberal culture of the Weimar republic is crumbling. At The Silhouette\, one of the last active Cabaret clubs in the city\, a small crew still struggles to keep up the façade of a gay life. Soon\, nobody will be able to deny what is happening; the time has come to make difficult choices\, or have your life chosen for you. The ‘Cabaret’ larp is a ‘larger than life’ larp\, based on one of the most dramatic turning times in European history. Its overarching theme is that the personal is political\, and the political personal. \n\n\n\n‘Cabaret’ is a larp musical. All participants will take on one of the characters frequenting the club\, as artists or guests. Some will sing and dance\, albeit not everyone. But everyone will be a part of the drama at the club\, ranging from the small miseries of a broken heart to the political tragedy unfolding in Europe at this time.

But here\, in these caves in the middle of nowhere\, there’s just the radio\, blending this multitude of stories into a more and more uniform hum.There’s a group of us here\, waiting for the end\, forgotten by the rest of humanity. We are very different people\, with different reasons to be here. Some say we can survive here if we work hard\, and that after the dust cloud settles we will rebuild civilisation. Some see it as the last chance to live their life to the fullest and do things they never dared. Some want to make their peace with God\, some seek love\, or forgiveness\, or connection. Others just want to forget it all and party like there’s no tomorrow. Still\, the end of days seems to be bringing us closer together. Today\, we’re celebrating a wedding – perhaps the last one any of us will ever see – and afterwards someone will have to do the dishes. We have one more year to fill with meaning.​
